Dear Readers,
Did you see the full-moon?
When the sun sets in the west the moon rises in the east,
everyday, day after day and everyday, day after day, it amazes us.

I went on a day trip hosted by the neighborhood association
of where I was raised last week.
I hadn’t intended to participate in the trip
but a childhood friend asked me to go there with her
and also my nieces and my parents planed to go on the day trip
so I decided to go to take pictures and video them as usual.
I hoped they would like it.
The main event was 'Steam Locomotive'.
I saw a person taking care of the fire
in the locomotive for the departure of the train.
The train was chugging along noisily
and discharging black and white smoke in turns through
the quiet rural views where cosmoses were blooming.
I enjoyed the rail trip through the finder window of my camera.
My friend said, “This picture is nice.
I’ll send this to my friends as a new year card.
Oh! Actually I won't send the card
because my grandmother passed away yesterday.
She was 99 years old, 6 days short of 100 years old.”
She still looked as if nothing had happened.
I thought that when people live a long life,
it isn't sad but generally admired.
By a curious coincidence, this day was a full-moon.
Our bus was running on the Tokyo highway at sundown
and I found not the sun but the moon.
I mistook the sun for the moon
because they looked very similar.
We couldn’t help oohing and aahing
when we saw the beautiful moonrise
from the bus.The moon continued to stay with us
so we could see the gold-colored moon everywhere!
After getting off the bus, we went to an electronics store to photocopy something
and saw a video at my parents house with my family and my friend and her son.
My work was completely finished and I had a sense of achievement.
And let me also say that a full-moon means achievement.
My friend emailed me four days after,
she thanked me and said that her grandmother departed from this life,
cremated along with the photos I took.
When I read it, my eyes suddenly overflowed with tears.
Those were unexpected appreciative words for me.

Have a good week!
