縦書きの手帳を見たことありますか？
さて、1D1U 手帳 2020 モデルができました。
トラディショナルなんですが、ある意味新しいです！
Have you ever seen a vertical diary?
Well, get ready for the 1D1U 2020 version!
It’s traditional in a new way!
お正月は、姪の書初めコーチングをしました。姪は、最初はさんざんでしたが、私は姪が気づかないように、やる気のスイッチを入れました。（笑）それから、姪は言いました。「明日も来てくれる？」と。私は、3日間、書道の出張プライベートレッスンをしたのです。姪はかなり上達をしました。クラスでの賞レースにノミネートされるといいです。私も達成感を味わいました。そんなわけで、かなり久しぶりに縦書きの文字を書き、書道をすることで、心地よい集中も味わったのです。
I taught Shodo to my niece on New Year's day. She was terrible at first so I turned her switch on before she knew it. And then she said, “Can you come to teach me tomorrow?” I went to give her private at-home Shodo lessons for three days. She made a wonderful achievement! I hope she will be nominated for the class prize. I had a sense of achievement, too. Anyway, I wrote letters vertically for the first time in a long time and Shodo helped me to concentrate comfortably.
姪たちの付き添いで本屋へ行き、『マイブック』という文庫本の形をした、無地の本を見つけました。日記帳として使えるようです。ハードカバーの日記帳や普通の手帳とは違い、薄い紙、文庫本の大きさだし、値段もたった400円。思わず手に取りました。
I went to a book store with my nieces and found “My book” that is a blank paperback and it can be used as a diary. It was different from a hardcover dairy and an ordinary schedule, it has thin pages, is a small size and only 400 yen so I took in my hand.
しかし、元旦に買ったのにもかかわらず、書き始めませんでした。姪の書初めコーチングが終了した日から、縦書きで書き始めました。すると驚いたことに、サラサラと3日分書いている自分がいました。
Even though, I bought it on the first day of this year, I didn’t start writing in it. When I finished teaching my niece, I tried to write vertically. Amazingly I dashed off a diary for three days.
このお正月、宇宙は私に何を教えてくれたのでしょうか？ 「手書き」と「縦書き」というメッセージが来たのです。
What was the universe telling me on new year's day? “Handwriting” and “vertical writing.” came to me.
それで思いついたのが、1D1U手帳を縦書きにするというアイデアです。縦書きなら、行書のように書けるところが、新鮮ですね。英語で書きたい場合は、横向きにもできるのです。これぞ、日英併記の日記帳ですね。世界初です！
That inspired me to make a vertical writing 1D1U diary. I think to write in a semi-cursive style of writing is to turn over a new leaf. If you want to write down in English, you can put the diary horizontally. This is the Japanese and English written together diary. It’s a world first.
