ココ・シャネルはかつて言った。「贅沢（ラグジュアリー）を貧乏の反対だという人がいるけど、それは間違い。贅沢とは下品さの反対なのよ」と。
Coco Chanel once said, ”Some believe that LUXURY is the opposite of poverty. No, it’s the opposite of vulgarity.”
6年前にノマドワーカーをしようと、パソコンを持ってディズニーシーに行ったことがある。パソコンを開いている人は、私しかいないなかった。夢の国で、起業の夢を叶えた人が、ノマドワーカーをするという、自由な感覚を味わいたかったのもある。
Six years ago, I went to Disney Sea with my computer to try to be a nomadic worker. I was the only person with a computer open. A nomad worker in a dreamland, a person who has fulfilled the dream of entrepreneurship, I also wanted to experience that sense of freedom.
さて、今のディズニーランドはどうなっているのだろう？ 久しぶりにチケットサイトを開いてみた。いつのまにか、入場制限が解除されており、当日でもチケットを買える状態に戻っていた。また、７月からウィークナイトパスポートができたようだ。早速チケットを購入し、弾丸ディズニーランドを楽しむことにした。
So, what’s going on at Disneyland now? I opened the ticket website for the first time in a while. Before I knew it, the admission restrictions had been lifted and it was back to being possible to buy tickets on the day. Also, it seems that a weeknight passport has been available since July. I bought a ticket to enjoy an impromptu trip to the Tokyo Disney Sea!
ディズニーランドのアプリをダウンロードした。そこに電子チケットも反映された。そして驚いたことに、愛すべき紙の地図から、GPSつきの地図へと、別次元の進化を遂げていた。いつの間に！ ディズニーランドに居なくても、アプリを開けば待ち時間が見える。ディズニーランド内では、自分の居場所も表示され、より便利だ。レストランの予約もできるようになっていた。空いているレストランが2つ表示されたので、運河沿いのイタリアンレストランを予約した。
I downloaded the Disneyland app and my ticket appeared there. And to my surprise, it had evolved to another level, from the beloved paper map to a map with GPS. When did that happen? Even if you are not at Disneyland, you can open the app and see the wait times. Within Disneyland, it also shows your location, making it even more convenient. The app also allowed restaurant reservations. Two available restaurants were shown, so I made a reservation at an Italian restaurant on the canal.
６年前に来たが、あれからそんな時間が経過したのかと思うと、不思議な感じがした。エントランスの地球儀のある噴水の前には、20代が大勢いた。暇な人が多いものだ。私もそうだ。
I came to Disney Sea six years ago, It felt strange to think that much time had passed since then. In front of the fountain with the globe at the entrance, there were a lot of 20-somethings. There are a lot of people with a lot of free time on their hands. I’m one of them.
早速歩き始めると、丁度ミッキーのショーがあるシアターの前に着いたが、入らない選択をした。19時の夕食の時間まで散歩をして、食事を楽しみたいと思った。
人気のアトラクションは、80分待ちとかで、若者が長蛇の列を作っていたが、私には関係ない。アプリも関係なくなり、ひたすら感覚のままに歩いていく。21周年のディズニーの木々は生い茂っており、自然の中を散歩している感覚になった。橋の上で、一眼レフを構えている人がいた。どんな構図を撮っているのか気になって、レンズの先の風景を見ると、アヤソフィアのような建造物が見え、沈む夕日に反射して、美しかった。
I started walking and arrived just in front of the theatre where Mickey’s show was on, but I chose not to go in. I decided to take a walk and enjoy my meal at 7 pm.
Popular attractions had long queues of young people waiting 80 minutes or so, but it didn’t matter to me. The apps were no longer relevant and I just walked with my senses. The 21st anniversary Disney trees were lush and I felt like I was taking a walk in nature. On the bridge, a person was holding an SLR camera. I was curious to see what kind of composition she was taking, so I looked at the landscape beyond the lens and saw a structure like the Hagia Sophia, which was beautifully reflected in the setting sun.
ディズニーシーの散歩は、コンパクトに世界一周ができるアトラクションである。また、アリエルが住む空想上の海底を歩くこともできる。建造物や作品に感心し、ディズニーシーが美術館のように感じられた。
The Disney Sea walk is a compact round-the-world attraction. It also allows visitors to walk on the imaginary ocean floor where Ariel lives. Admiring the structures and artworks, Disney Sea felt like a museum.
世界一周散歩を終え、旅人はベネチアのイタリアンレストランに到着した。予約なしだと40分待ちだが、予約しているとすぐに入れた。こんなに大きなピザ窯がある店は、都会の中ではないだろう。本格的な料理にこれまた驚いた。ディズニーランド内でコース料理をいただくために、入園料を払うのもありではないかと、新しい楽しみを覚えた。
After the round-the-world walk, the traveler arrived at an Italian restaurant in Venice. There was a 40-minute wait without a reservation, but with a reservation, it was quick to get in. No restaurant in a city would have such a large pizza oven. I was again surprised by the authenticity of the food. I learned a new pleasure: paying the park entrance fee to have a course meal in Disneyland.
食後は、腹ごなしのため2週目の散歩へ。次のセミナーで出すお菓子を買ったり、夜景を楽しんだ。まもなくナイトショーがはじまるというので、中央の港にはたくさんの人が集まり始めていた。私もベストポジションを見つけるために、うろうろしていると、ちょうど真上に花火が上がった。ラッキーだ。動画を撮影し、私のコミュニティー、ブログでもシェアした。
After dinner, I went for a walk for the second time to refresh my stomach. I enjoyed shopping for the next seminar and the illuminated scenery. The night show was about to begin and many people were starting to gather in the central harbor. As I wandered around to find the best position, a firework went up just above me. Lucky me. I took a video and shared it with my community and blog.
そうしたら、「TDSの乗り物が目的じゃないというのが、凄く贅沢な使い方ですね」とのコメントをいくつかいただいた。そうか、これがラグジュアリーか。
And I received comments on my blog. Some commented, “It’s a very luxurious way to use the TDS, not for the rides.” I see, so this is luxury.
ラグジュアリーについて、検索した人もいた。「ラグジュアリーな人の口癖は『なにか手伝えることはない？』とのこと」。確かにそう。私の口癖だ。
And one member of my community searched for Luxury. ”Luxury people always say, “Is there anything I can help you with?” That’s true. That’s what I always say.
6年前のディズニーシーでは、何かをしようとしていたけれど、今の私はなにもしようとしていなかった。「何もしない幸せ」。"Dolce far niente"（ドルチェファールニエンテ）イタリア人にでもなったようだ。
Six years ago at Disney Sea, I was trying to do something, but now I wasn’t trying to do anything. "I’m happy doing nothing", “Dolce far niente” like I’m Italian.
ラグジュアリーとは、お金のことを言っているのではなく、精神的な余裕、自由のことについて言うのだろう。
Luxury may not be about money, but about spiritual luxury and freedom.

過去自分がいた場所に降り立ってみると、精神的な成長を感じることがあります。３０代のころは、自分の計画通りに制覇できなかったことに苛立って、妹に「なぜ苛立ってるの？」とフィードバックされるような人間でしたが、(笑)たった６年前も「ノマドワーカーをする」という目的を果たすために、アトラクションには乗らないにしても、いくつものレストランをはしごしていました。そして今は、美味しい食事をするためだけに、ディズニーシーを散歩していたのです。(笑)
